My country has passport control at ports and airports, and a system of visas. Refugees are not allowed to work and pay income tax until their case is settled. Undocumented migrants are liable to be arrested and may be imprisoned, deported or put in hostels. Sometimes our incompetent givenments lose or destroy the records of migrant workers who came here at our request, with permission.

Can an illegal immigrant present themselves at ports and airports? No, because they cannot board a boat or a plane to the UK without a visa which is how it should be.
Can an illegal immigrant present themselves mid-channel or on the beaches of Kent and be allowed into the UK? Yes. There's the problem then. Your country’s passport control is only fit for law abiding citizens coming to the UK.

The whole migrant problem really is a big problem. Using the excuse of it is only a very small percentage and calling people racists for being concerned is a way of preventing people voicing their genuine concerns with fear of being labelled a racist. There is nothing wrong with wanting to protect your own country and being concerned. The cost implication on its own. is ridiculous. 6 million per day on housing them in Hotels, on average £12,000 per immigrant per year. Yet this government took the winter fuel allowance away from pensioners who would have paid into the system for years with national insurance and paying tax.

Being "lucky enough not to be poor", presumably you also don’t need a personal tax allowance, a personal savings allowance and tax-free interest earnings on your isa's and premium bond winnings. Do you make use of those allowances?

Because the system does not segregate the rich from the poor, just because you can afford not to have the winter fuel allowance, think of those who cannot afford not to have it. Did you hand it back when you did receive it?

No, but there will be more pensioners that rely on the winter fuel allowance than a disability benefit. The two are not connected regardless. It would be such a headache differentiating who needs the fuel allowance and would be more expensive than simply paying it to all.
