Hi Guys

4 years of hard work and commitment to persistently nagging my wife has finally yielded a boxing wall unit, but now that it’s arrived I’m a little concerned that the wall that I’m planning to mount it on may not stand up to the punishment.

Here is a pic of the only possible place that the bag could be mounted in my shed, with the bag itself against it.

The walls are a single course of blocks, and the roof is metal. When lightly hitting the wall we’re noticing an unnerving amount of vibration in the door and window. It MAY be OK as it is, but I’d rather not have to think about it when using it (I admit that I have an obsession with overbuilding).

How can I reinforce this part of the shed to give me peace of mind? My options seem limited to either mounting it on wood to increase the load area, or add another course of blocks to create a kind of pillar (Seems like a better option, but I’m not 100% sure of the best way to go about doing that one).

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
