Removal of flue and venting

Hi all,

I have had a new central heating system installed. I had warm air heating (Johnson Starley) and after the install the old vents in the rooms were sealed up.

My question is this...is it easy now to remove the old flue to the roof (only one bolt fixes it to the roof) and the insulated vents to the bedrooms, else who best to call to do this for me?

I think you mean you have had a new wet system installed?

You could ask the boiler installer?

Often flues can be asbestos cement that may be dangerous!

That looks like metal twin wall flue and it can be removed easily with little effort, as can the ducting. That picture is NOT asbestos flue!

you can undo the bolts on the ridge terminal and it should just come away, a bit of persuasion with a hammer might be needed to break the rest of the flue up
ducting can be a pain to get out as it's usually screwed / riveted / tapped together and may need cutting but still shouldn't be a problem.
make sure you get yourself a decent dust mask as it'll be a messy, dusty job and some disposable overalls might be handy too
