Hi all

I bought some flooring to put in my living room (which was initially carpet), to match my hallway which was done 5 years earlier -

I bought from same shop and even asked him to look at my reciept from before - yet its come out different.

hallways is clear oak this has these black marks which i just dont like

it was all fitted whilst i was at work so nothing i can do about it now.

shopkeeper claims its just the batch.

but i was wondering if its possible to remove or at least dim down these black marks....look like cigerrette burns!!

I think the black marks are filler that they apply to gaps in the wood to make it look more rustic, personally I like it.

However, if you don't like it then I doubt there is anything you can do other than replace the whole lot..

Sand, pick out filler, use new filler.

It is possible, but far more effort than would be considered sane.

You would be best replacing them.
