Hi

We had a Quick-Step oak floor professionally laid using UniClic tongue and groove technology, so no glue. We need to remove some of the flooring to relay wires underneath, but the job the guy did laying the floorwas so good we are now unable to remove any of the floorboards :(

We are pretty sure we have located the last floorboard laid, but we can't budge it or get enough leverage under it to pop it out as there is only a 0.7cm gap between the floor and the skirting .

All the websites say the removal is as easy as the installation, but do not give details on how to do this!

Is there a trick to this without causing any damage?

Thanks for your help!

heeelllooo redwren and welcome :D :D :D :D

assuming you dont have beading you wont unclick it without lifting it up about 4 or 5" so the skirting needs to come off
it will unclick from either side but easier to reassemble with the long tounge on the floor

if you need to lift a whole length [advisable to help save dammage ]you will more than likely need to remove 3 walls worth of skirting unless you can slide clear one end or 2 sides if you only want the begining of the run up

be prepaired to replace up to 20% [1 in 5]because of dammage

Sorry for your trouble Redwren, but why does what those websites write make me laugh?

Follow Big-all's advice, that's the only way for it.

Hi - Thanks for the quick response :D

Starting to see why carpet is so popular! I suppose I had better get pulling off that skirting... be prepared for a 'how do I replace damaged skirting?' in my next post!

Thanks again :D

I'd rather wish you'd said: why normal T&G is so popular ;-)
