Hi, my Renault laguna 1.8, RT, R, reg, petrol, manual, only has 67000 on the clock. The fuel consumption is terrible or is it normal? on 20 pounds i get about 100 miles. If this is bad how do i improve it???

Regards Colin

£20.00 worth at todays prices is less than four gallons so that's a bit over 25 mpg, doesn't sound bad for a petrol if you are doing short or slow runs. Try it on a longish constant speed run, I would think you ought to get 30+. A diesel would probably improve that by 50%

You could maybe improve things a bit by giving the car a thorough service - including an air filter and spark plugs. Even 'taken for granted' things such as tyre pressures could have some effect on the overall consumption.
An 1800cc petrol lump is having to work hard to shift a heavy vehicle such as the Laguna.
