I am going to buy a new cooker - same rating as old, current circuit is radial and of the correct cable size, breaker is correct.

However the current cooker panel, with integrated 13amp socket, is above old cooker. Under "new" regulations do I need to move, or get moved, the cooker panel to the side ie not above cooker before the new cooker can be installer or can I install the new cooker in the same position as the old one ?

You have to move the cooker socket to 300mm from the edge of the cooker.

Thanks for your guidance JackC - one more question - can it be .86metres to the side or is the 300mm a given ? - you guessed it, .86metres would be easiest for me !

...within 2m but not directly above... (from On-Site Guide)
