Hello,

I'm replacing a bathroom timer extractor fan as it has stopped working, with a new lower watt timer fan. I've had a look at previous posts but can't find anything that answers my query.

The previous fan was fitted about 3 years ago when I had a rewire done. The fan works using the light pull cord. There are 3 cables; brown, grey (with brown tape attached to it) and black (with blue tape attached to it). The connection points in the fan are not labelled. There is also a yellow/green wire that is not connected. The new fan has 3 connection points labelled; neutral, switched live and permanently live supply. As I'm replacing like for like I thought it would be quite straight forward but I'm confused by the colours of the wires as there is the coloured tape attached to some. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks

OK
The brown is the live
The black with blue tape is the neutral
the grey with brown tape is the switched live.

The earth does not connect to anything
