I need to have an EICR before I sell it. I think these were/are called 'landlord safety check'.

Do I need to have an NICEIC approved contractor or can a qualified tester with 2394 and 2395 do this? Is this likely to be acceptable or should it be NICEIC? I don't want to make a mistake when hiring.

Thanks for your help.

No, you don't. There is no such thing.

There is an Electrical Installation Condition Report which could cost around £200 for an average property which can be done by anyone but most do not know what they are doing. You will not know which people are which.

Anyway, you do not need one.
If the buyer wants one they can commission it and pay for it.
