I think someone from Twitter has created a facebook app called fan pages. It carries a virus and has now made virtually all of facebook unuseable. Peoples "news feeds" are delayed by 24 hours and can only be temporarily restored by logging out. Temporarily as I said.

Wonder how they'll get round this. Its spreading like wildfire.

oh dear people will have to go into the real world and speak to real people

We've just nipped into our local for a snack, and Facebook was being discused at the bar.

All us 40+ fogeys can't understand the attraction at all, as said previously, why on earth don't the kids pick up the phone and have a conversation rather than bore everyone rigid with "I've just got up" etc?

What never fails to make me laugh is the sad to$$ers who "meet and fall in love over the internet"

Presumably, all forms of conversation will cease completely in the future, and we will be left with morons who just breed for the sake of breeding, a la Jeremy Kyle guests

Mate has just joined a social network site for guys who batter there wives.

Its called twa tter

The virus is called Fan site virus.
Maybe if folks didnt load every crap app that they get sent things like this wouldnt happen.

However - DONT go googling for fansite virus - the hits direct you to spurious websites set up with malware alarms on them to make you think you are infected in the hope you will buy their useless "antivirus product" - which is probably what will infect your computer.

I have never understood why its called 'Facebook' when it is not a book and you don't meet people 'face to face'. :?

From overheard conversations amongst the youngsters in work if you gave them a book I think they would ask, "Where do you plug it in?"

the application in question is now deleted but it did catrch a few people, who ever did it was very clever adding it to that particular app as it spread like wildfire from people being nosey!

and as of the "falling in love" im not sure i fall under that catagory but i did meet my gf on the net, we used to chat on a site a few years ago, no we didnt declare undying love after chatting for 45 seconds, however we talked for months then met up and the rest is history.

facebook s a good way to catch up with old school / wrk friends that you havent seen in a long time and otherwise wouldnt be ablt to get in touch with, for example a couple of my old school friends that i had lost touch with have moved away, (NZ, canada etc) and can now chat to them every now and again where as before could never have.
