I think I said 10 days to nosy earlier although it's 13 days since the start of the protests. There have been quite a few stories about the BBC's reluctance to run the story so they're playing catch up.

BBC Arabic was bad enough with some news companies branding BBC Arabic a branch of Hamas. I didn't know till this morning that there was such a thing as BBC Persia, no wonder they tried to keep it quiet, they had no choice. Ayatollah say no.

Anyway, the Crown Prince is on standby to oversee a temporary govt pending democratic elections. Israel will help restore water supplies where they're failing, hopefully all before the economy collapses completely, (inflation over 50% and the Riall in freefall) or the water runs out.

This really is an exciting opportunity for the whole of the Middle East in terms of a lasting peace, but Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis need finishing off, and without Iranian money that won't be too hard.

That's what's driving the Iranian people, they're now ling in poverty because the Mullahs are spending their wealth on nuclear ambitions and the destruction of Israel.

I mentioned on another thread, and I wasn't aware until the last day or so, how closely interwoven Hezbollah and Iran were to Venezuela, and how closely engaged with Russia, with regards oil, Venezuela was.

I think somebody is playing a very clever game at the moment.

It wasn't the west that fomented revolution in 1979. The Shah was pro-western.

Although it's the Shahs son who's looking to move back from exile as a figurehead, I think he realises there can't be a return to the pre Islamist days either and he see's his role as a unifying figure until democratic elections are held. They will need a lot of help from neighbouring countries which seems to be on offer before they get to that stage.
Prior to 1979 the Iranians were on good terms with Israel and were not involved in any of the wars against them, they made up for it however after 1979 using proxies.

How were they under sanctions for 50 years?, you're talking nonsense man. Trump put them under sanctions during his first term, Biden lifted them freeing up billions of dollars to spend on proxies to carry out assaults on Israel and the whole of the West. Who do you think was funding the pro Hamas/anti Israel demos in London?
