Revolting Iranians

Re Iran
I've been following Lindsay and Craig Foreman after they were taken into custody in early January 2025 during a world motorcycle tour. Later charged with espionage, the couple from East Sussex are now in Tehran's Evin prison and not in a good way I read.
Craig has teeth trouble and Lindsey has lost weight. Both are in big trouble by sounds of it, so I'm hoping the current events may work in their favour.
We all make poor decisions and they definitely did, but that's not reason to kick a person when they are down. Can you imagine what hell it must be! So I don't think they need a talking to, just getting back home.

:eek:

Sounds very messy. But it is in line with the basics that I have read before. We need to properly understand what really happened under the Shah and why the revolution occurred.
As I understand it, Reza Pahlavi doesn't say he wants to be a new Shah, but to act as an intermediary till a more representative government takes over. Be great if that happens!

We'll just have to wait and see (and hope). Maybe the current lot will fall and another lot take over, but without Reza Pahlavi.

There is no way of knowing. These countries and cultures are so different and are simply impossible to understand.

Good article but I have a slight issue with one part;

The Pahlavi pretender himself certainly thinks so. After waiting for the protests to achieve international headlines, he has begun issuing statements and giving interviews. He has called for coordinated demonstrations, promised a smooth transition, and assured Iranians that he is ready to lead. His message is clear: I am your man.

I've been listening to him making those calls for at least a year now.

If Trump is going to do something, do you think it will be soon. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens today.

So it's stolen oil then.

At last you're agreeing

I surrender, I haven't got a clue what you're talking about. I've agreed that oil in Venezuela belongs to Venezuela.

If you're now shifting the argument to shadow fleet oil tankers, false flagged and breaching US and International sanctions, then no, it belongs to whoever has the balls and weaponry to seize it.

I'm not shifting it. You might be trying to though
