RNLI

You just don’t want to know, do you.
Me. I'm all ears.

Meanwhile, back in reality central...

".......the UK is experiencing one of the steepest declines in net migration and is at one of the lowest levels since 2012.

Small boat arrivals also declined in the first five months of this year: 9,142 migrants managed to reach the British coast between the beginning of the year and June 9 -- that's 38 percent fewer arrivals than during the same period last year....."

Your turn Mottie.

AI says: We're paying a couple of hundred million a year (662m / 3 years)
In 2026 they have stopped 6 boats, about ONE third of attempted crossings, and prosecuted 5 smugglers.
"they have started mid-sea interceptions", where boats are escorted back.
The money is dependent on getting results (supposedly).

It's all a bit waffly and unconfirmed.
They mention patrols, road blocks, drones, helicopter (no "s"), and boats.

I got one of those AI responses where it doesn't actually know much, so keeps repeating what it does know, which sounded like it was a ministerial statement.
It mentioned Human Rights protesters in the way too.

A third won't do, it has to be most of them, to discourage the rest

It would be fun designing a high speed marine drone with a pointy end...
I think they already have those they are quite good at making holes in things.

Search for Rattler and Lutine

A different AI said 40000 reached us this year, down "about 40%".

Indeed a search on Rattler, marine drones, found quite a lot.
A jetski with a retiarius on the back, would do.
That's the Roman fellah with the trident and the net.
Net to foul the prop

They could borrow Highwayman on his day off

Another 3 blasts of the horn as the good ship Nosenout runs its engines in full astern.

Nobody is talking about legal migration.

What TF has that to do with the RNLI? You did start a thread about the RNLI didn’t you? Do you want to change it now? That’s called 'swerving' dontcha know.

Fair enough. It is also suggested to people that they do not go hill walking in t-shirt, shorts, and trainers, with no map, compass, warm/waterproof clothing and food. Should mountain rescue teams not turn out to rescue idiots who do?
Where did I say the RNLI shouldn't rescue migrants in danger? I just said the migrants shouldn't put themselves at risk, and neither should irresponsible hill walkers.
What about people who want to claim asylum in this country?
They should claim asylum in the first safe country

Indeed they shouldn't, but they do. And he RNLI should no more be criticised for turning out to rescue people at sea than mountain rescue teams are for rescuing numpties on hills or doctors treating smokers with lung cancer.

That is so not an answer to "What about people who want to claim asylum in this country? "

No problem. They can sit in a high security facility for a few years to think about it.
Basic food, shelter and medical assistance will be provided whilst they decide if it was a good idea to enter the UK illegally.
They can stay as long as they like.

That's how it should be, not left to roam around free and work on the side under different peoples names for Deliveroo whilst taking our hospitality.

After a few months when they have all buggered off (to some other soft touch) and the boats are no more, we could turn them into tourist attractions/hotels where the guests pay to have a good laugh at virtuous lefties.
Like a museum of absurdity.
