Hi all

I have a Roberts Gemini 21 DAB radio (mains/battery powered).

Sometime ago the power button started to become unresponsive. It would turn the radio off immediately but required numerous jabs to turn it on. Eventually it just refused to turn on.

Today I took it apart and tried to bridge the button. Nothing happened.

Whilst trying to get continuity readings on my multimeter I slipped and hit two contacts of a PCB interconnecting lead at once. The lead comes from a PCB full of capacitors. The device was unplugged at the time but there was a small spark (I guess that I had inadvertently discharged some of those capacitors).

Anywho, I immediately plugged the mains lead back in and the radio started to work (without needing to hit the button).

The power button still remained inoperable so I pulled the mains lead.

Plugging the lead back in will only work if I "discharge" the capacitors.

As a novice, how difficult is it likely to be to fix this?
