Hi, I work for one of the UK's biggest companies. To access roofs for general repairs, we use Tetra systems and all the guys are trained in it. To access hips, we always go for a fixed scaffold for fall arrest. Just lately we have been undercut on quotes by huge amounts by another contractor (50% sometimes). I know we are competitive so I've looked into. I've found the other contractor is not using a scaffold but are using the tetra ladders and then stepping off and using the lathes to access the hips.
According to Tetra this is strictly a No-No as 3 points need to be maintained on the ladder.
How do you other contractors approach the hip tile repair / replacement issue but ensure compliance?
Cheers
