But the other question has to be, is why the supplier has not changed the meter? They were given something like two extra years to sort it out, so there should not have been any teleswitches left, they should have been replaced with either simple clocks or smart meters.

I wasn't offered simple clock type, but was pressed to change to a smart meter.

It’s possible they fired up the transmitter one last time to tell the rts devices to use the internal program as mentioned.

Maybe too many complaints of ppl with cold water ?

Are they that sophisticated? Can they be told anything other than 'ON' or 'OFF'?
