Hi there im wanting help on a query I have concerning a rewire of a restaurant .... The restaurant has been rewired no problems there however Im now wanting to run a feed outside for all the outside lighting ( max 10 x 250w floodlights ) and maybe some low voltage outside lights aswell..... Just wondering if anyone had an idea which SWA cable would be suitable to feed the consumer unit to supply these....the cu outside will be housed in a lockable hut . The cable will be run from a 40 way board inside .......
any help concerning this would be much appreciated

distance for cable run for one?

If you are involved in rewiring or adding any part of the electrical installation to this type of property - you really should know the very basics of Ohms Law and how to calculate the load from that. Then you should know about the other factors to consider before obtaining the right cable size. I suppose you know what type of terminations to use for the SWA and the right type of IP ratings for the lights.

I'm just wondering why you need a 250 watt floodlight every 2 metres. Its not wembley stadium. What sort of lights are they?
