Safe to walk on kitchen extension roof

Sorry if this is a silly one, but I want to know if its ok for a person or two people to walk on top of our kitchen extension roof?

Its flat felt roof. I would think its OK as builders must have done this but wanted to check with someone. Reason I want to do this is to install a Sedum roof.

That depends on
1. how thick the boarding under the felt is;
2. the condition of the boarding (the felt may have leaked and rotted the boarding);
3. the spacing of the roof joists;
4. the size of the roof joists;
5. the condition of the roof joists;
6. the span of the roof joists;
7. the thickness of the soil you intend to use for your 'green' roof.

Put simply - who knows?

You would think...but if I was going to be dumping tonnes of soil onto my existing joists, the weight of a couple of men would be the least of my worries

Hi - thanks for replies - yes for sedum roof I will be getting a specialist to look at it but I wanted to go on the roof to measure and check out a few other things, just wanted to make sure that was safe to do.

Not so sure about them growing roofs - I sedum collapse under their own weight
