As some will know, I am totally against the corner safe zones because they are not safe. And the blanket ban on cables behind skirting boards is ridiculous, the height of the skirting should be a consideration.
Take a standard house with boarded floors, job is to install new power circuits with cables in floor voids rising up to the socket positions. As the skirting is an unsafe zone how do you get from underfloor to the socket.
In the good old days you would chase the wall and hammer a piece of gently curved conduit behind the skirting into the floor void. But this seems to be non-compliant because the cable will be unprotected behind the skirting board.
So what is the modern way of doing it, not trying to catch anyone out, just interested in scheme members views who have to comply to maintain their registration.

Technically no - that later edition actually came out in 1998, but as holmslaw has a time machine (how else could he be living in Zaire?) it isn't out yet for him.I thought they stoped doing that in the 2nd edition of the Zaire wiring regs as the dung beetles were nicking the cable fixings!
