They are much more sensitive to suspects rights than they used to be, but they’re also much more streetwise in terms of how they “get round” them .
People I would regard as left of center are coming to the conclusion that there is a problem with serious offenders and asylum. It’s not a new issue but when the main stream media focus on these headlines people think it’s a bigger problem than home grown crime.
They just use the Nuremberg defence if they get in trouble.

No I literally said she had an incorrect visa. You assumed she applied for the wrong visa, you assumed they revoked leave to remain status and you assumed she was living there illegally - she wasn't. She had a lawful right to remain visa and was legally living in Sweden.
So it wasn't the wrong one, it was the right one?
