Scratched MDPE

Hello everyone

If MDPE gets scratched, not deep but minor surface blemishes while being pulled through, will it effect joints?

There not deep but you can feel them and see them just about.

Also whats the best way to pull it through tight spaces? Should I wrap tape around the ends just where I will be making joins then remove it after?

No good if scratched. The water will get under the o ring. Bigger hole is the only answer. If its tight enough to scratch the pipe then tape won't do any good.
