After a life in the electrical and electronics industries, one accumulates a fair amount of tools and test equipment, but I'm now retired and need to downsize on some of what I own. Some is older, some quite new and current equipment.

Is it permitted to offer some of the stuff in here please? At the moment I had in mind just three items of electrical interest.

A For sale/Wanted section might be useful on here. Possibly available only to members after a certain time/number of posts as on other forums to stop those joining up just to sell.

Have you thought about ebay? I’ve bought and purchased stuff through it. Few things to watch out for though, such as a reserve price.

Perhaps you could simply mention the 3 'spare' items you have in passing, and suggest that if anyone was interested in them they could PM you. :sneaky:

OK, in passing....

I have a couple of really ancient items, one analogue, the other digital, little used and one new and current digital item.

All three are clamp meters plus, as in doing other functions all are open to sensible offers and full specs. of each can easily be found online.

LEM LEHE LH1025 1000amps + volts + Resistance - comes with soft case
AVO 60 to 1200amp + volts + Resistance - comes with hard case and manual
Fluke T5-1000 does amps + volts + continuity - This is new, just removed from it's box, tested and then stored unused for a few years. Retail is £140-ish.

All are True RMS.

Open to sensible offers, collection or post at cost..

Now this is a good idea.

I love the idea of a 'wanted' section too, where folk can ask if anyone has such-and-such tucked away in their garage.

Brilliant.

Hopefully not against the forum rules.

I’m in one fb group that doesn't allow adds unless it contains a price and location which imo is a good thing.

You can advertise on facebook nationally, there are lots of ads their, trouble is it is social media and inhabited by time wasters, making it their lifes work to waste everyone else's time.

I've used Gumtree (free) successfully for disposing of various items, mainly for a price but also in their Freebies' section.

The Fluke T5-1000 has now sold. I received a few stupid low offers, then a couple at a more sensible price of £80 and I accepted that of a local college.
