Hi
I am a bit unclear on what height a shaver socket (with transformer) should be positioned when fitted in the bathroom.
With the new 17th edition regs sockets & switches need to be between 45cm & 120cm of floor level, dose the height required for a shaver socket when positioned over a sink override this requirement.
The old 16th edition regs stated it had to be at least 60cm above tap height on a sink, I cant find an deferent answer in any of the 17th edition books I have flicked through in the library.

I could ask the electrician I have arranged to inspect my 1st & 2nd Fix and testing, but he is a busy man.

The hight regulations is Part M not 17th Edition and you can download here it does have some latitude and of course where mirror light and socket are combined it would be impossible to mount below the 1200mm limit.

Much depends on the inspector and if you use arguments like mounted there so kids can't play with it most inspectors would not stick their neck out and insist it is lowered.

Plus of course where the bathroom is up-stairs how would anyone in a wheel chair reach it to start with?
