To make up for my previous error - (query in a non-query forum)
I thought I would share my DIY project.
We bought a house just over a year ago, which had a massive garden, which the previous owner liked to let grow, and a rotting shed, against which a previous previous owner built a concrete set of stairs with no thought to where the water would go.
I have done a few jobs around the exterior of the house, I will share some more on those later, but this one is one I am quite proud of.
First I had to tear down the old rotten wall and what shocked me was just how dodgy it was, I could pull out the supports with my hand, any serious weight on the roof would have collapsed the structure, I imagine.
Next to the existing concrete steps, someone suggested I build a block wall, this would have been better, but I had already committed to pouring concrete. I say committed I was just stubbornly sticking to my idea that it would be easier. Building a concrete form is more complicated than I thought at that size. Were I to do it again I would build the wall from Blocks.
My main issue was the ground wasn't level and I thought, If I am levelling the ground to build the block wall, I may as well just build a bigger form and pour the whole thing in concrete.
Anyway, for the longer part, I levelled the ground with a small concrete form and then built a on block height wall with the timber frame on top.
