In that case you need to get somebody else to do the plumbing work in your house - the current incumbent is absolutely useless.

I hope you also shut off the main stopcock whenever you leave the house.

Have you entrusted the electrics to an idiot, or do you feel safe to leave them turned on when you go out?

I do turn off the stop cock when I go on holiday, as no matter how well plumbing has been installed then failures happen and the effects of a water tank burst would be reduced by turning the stop cock off.

Holiday, yes, and I do the same, even though I no longer keep a tank of water in my loft.

But not every time I leave the house....
