Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help.

I recently installed two shower lights above the bath and two downlighters at the other end of the bathroom. They are controlled by a two-gang dimmer switch. The shower lights are turned on with one dimmer knob, the other two lights with the second knob. The downlighters are dimmable without transformers.

The shower lights are 35W each and each have their own transformer of 60W. Also controlled from this knob is an extractor fan. This is isolated with a separate switch but wired into the circuit/ junction box in the loft to come on when the shower lights are switched on.

When the lights are on, they flicker at a low dim setting with or without the fan on. When on full, they flicker considerably when the fan is turned on.

I have taken one light bulb out to test (as suggested by someone) and there is no flicker but goes dim when the fan is turned on.

Any ideas? Is it a load problem or a crap dimmer switch?
Also, as the dimmer seems to also control the fan speed, is there a way to solve this and still use a dimmer?

Thanks,

How come the lights won't dim low without a flicker, even with the fan off?
