Simply put this is what Brexit was all about

Sigh.
So what's today's hysteria about Himmy?
It's not me that's confused and all of a tizzy!
Do you read your own comments:
What where/are those laws and regulations that we have now ditched? Fisheries, farming? Terrorism?
Has anyone told you, we haven't left yet.
And what terrorism laws and regulations does the EU have that we are ditching?
As usual, you're just spouting the first bit of nonsense that comes into your head.

Whilst having a say in the EU is preferable to not having a say, being one of twenty eight doesn't often result in getting what you want if you disagree with the fundamental principles.
The same applies to Scotland in the UK - so a lot want to leave.
That's the trouble with democracy which is held up as the magic solution unless the result is not that which was required by those who manipulate it.
The UK makes up about 10% of MEPs, so we are effectively a 1 in 10 voice. This is a significant voice in such an establishment.
We are active in making EU laws, with consultations, working groups, etc. These things are not just dreamt up by faceless officials, but come from research, from feedback from those affected by proposed laws.

Like any organisation, it isn't perfect, but then the UK Government is far from perfect as well, which is why the EU has been a force for good overall. It has driven individual governments to sort their own affairs out, to bring greater standardisation (which brings economic growth), and yet has protected our culture.

And we have thrown that away.

I agree.

1 in 10, 1 in 28 - still a minority.

I was trying to explain why the brexiters have no confidence in the EU, although they probably just don't like it on priciple.

You're still not answering the question. What is today's hysteria all about with you Himmy?

If you wish to label ridiculing your stupid comments as hysteria, go right ahead. It doesn't make your comments any less stupid.

Have you taken leave of your senses?
Your comment was a bit OTT wasn't it?
Esp as you didn't understand what was said by me, you took it out of context because you were too eager to have a pop.

As you said yourself, do you read your own comments? Because if you read yours, as well as mine, you'll see that you asked the same question that I asked Gas in response to his post.
Silly man, you just spout the first bit of nonsense that comes to your head. As usual.

Perhaps, between the two of you, you could cobble together some scrap of information about which laws and regulations concerning terrorism we have now ditched?
Or you could just carry on blustering away as though everyone else is stupid, and you're the only sane ones! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Try reading Gas's post to which I questioned. Have a gander at the question mark at several points. That question mark indicates it was a question, not a statement, please learn the difference.
Goodness me Himmy, you're being especially thick tonight. To help you a bit, I've highlighted the part in Gas's post to which I was referring and questioning. I'll say it again, QUESTIONING. Sunk in yet?

Never had a say ......so the EU beurocrats who we never voted for and couldn't remove dictated to the UK what laws and regulations we had to obey, we have now ditched through the referendum .......never did have a say WELL WE HAVE NOW !!!!!

Blustering day today! It's just wind! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Please don't feed the troll.

Your response is all it seeks.

Totally bereft of any human contact in the real world, your negative contact on the internets becomes its food.

Please don't feed the troll.

So you view being in the EU as servitude? I look forward to your reaction when you find we have to abide by the same rules, and yet have no say in them.
Go team!
When you have no political recourse to remove those in power wouldn't you call, the servitude ?
What would you call, it ?

And what terrorism laws and regulations does the EU have that we are ditching

It is suspected/rumoured/threatened, that when we leave the EU, they won't share any terrorism info with us, which will do nothing whatsoever to help defeat it.
When you have no political recourse to remove those in power wouldn't you call, the servitude

We are in servitude to those we work for, but we have the ability to leave this country (which you can't do if in servitude) or exit the EU, if we feel the politicians are treating us with too much disdain. Unfortunately, we can't replace them at the next election, because no matter who you vote for, the government always gets elected.
