Are you talking about damp proof for just the wall or for the wall and the floor ?
You would normally build the first 2 - 3 courses to bring the wall up to existing dpc level and then lay a roll of damp proof course along the course and if you were doing a floor then you would prepare the sub base (6" hardcore wacked down, sand blinding, then lay a damp proof membrane and lap that up the sides of the dwarf wall.
Then pour your concrete for the floor (include insulation if you want to) and build the walls up to wall plate level or as required.
For single skin then I normally treat with thompson weathershield to stop damp coming in.
yes worried about damp coming through the wall being single block i know damp won,t rise through the dpc should i just black jack out side and render ?
