Hi Guys,

I'm guessing that this could be done both ways, but as I've taken the plaster back to brickwork, it would be nice to do it properly. Should I fit the architrave for my door frames after the scratch coat, but before the skim so that the skim comes up to the architrave? OR is it better to get all the plastering finished and then attach the architrave?

Thanks

Always preferable to fit architraves after plastering complete.

Finsh plastering up to the casings.

Allow to dry.

Hang doors prior to fitting archies so that you can mess about with the casing legs should you need to, i.e. move 'em in a bit.

Fit archies last.

Think about it ... the sole purpose of architraves are to hide the inevitable crack where the plaster meets the door frame
