I bought a house in June that has a combi boiler and a seperate additional pump that the previous owners had wired on a plug In timer. The boiler is a vaillant ecotec and is approx 7 years old. Clearly the use of a secondary pump like this is a bit of a bodge job. Is there any way I can normalise it? Do vaillant offer a slave pump controller that would trigger the second pump only when the main (built in) pump is triggered?

Not sure what it is doing but the water doesn't circulate to downstairs radiators without it.
