Smell from Washing Machine/Cap Spigot

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone on here for all of the advice. Have raised the waste pipe to come out from just under the counter top and loop it down to the spigot facing up. Have removed the other spigot and installed a new P Trap to get rid of the horizontal one and haven't had any problems since.
