Hi guys.

I'm a registered "full scope" electrician with NAPIT and rather than asking them I thought I'd ask you guys if you know whether or not I would be allowed to design, fit and certify a heat and smoke detection system in a rented property? I understand that all work needs to be in line with BS 5839-6:2013 and am more than confident I can do the work, just not sure if other qualifications to what I have are required to carry this work out.

Cheers,
Chris.

Turns out the property is a 3 story HMO and that the customer has had a quote from the letting agency to do the work, £350!

I've informed the customer that it is my understanding that because its a 3 story HMO the work needs to be Grade A, LD2 and that I can't come close to that price and that he should check that the price he's been given will meet these requirements.

I doubt I'll hear from him again.

Chees,
Chris.
