Apparently, following the Covid outbreak many doctors decided to either take early retirement or leave the profession and many of those who remain decided to work part time. Why? I don't know.

I'm surprised you wonder why the govt. wasn't prepared for shortages, or for a pandemic, or for anything else, for that matter.
Boris Johnson doesn't do details, and promoted people who are plainly incompetent to do them either.
The sooner this government is voted out, the better.

His idea to cut VAT on energy prices was a more savvy political move than you make it sound. Energy prices are going to be a huge issue this winter and people are already taking notice of changes to their bill.
I'm not sure it'll make much difference though. The people who cast votes in this game aren't so badly affected.

When prices increase and vat is applied they collect more so have the ability to reduce the vat level. Somewhat anyway but other vat rated sales may drop off as people have less spare money.

That one is similar to changing contracts of employment. Think back to junior doctors demonstrating several years ago. Currently it sounds like we have more to come plus nurses this time over pay.

Some front line staff have left the NHS due to covid - they feel they have been taken advantage off.

Remember when everybody knew what was number one in the hit parade? The pop charts were important to many in those days. Now nobody cares, pop music has declined so drastically that the charts, although still compiled, are irrelevant. Today's politics are like that, still going on but with no relevance. the Tories like to frame civil servants as the enemy…..apparently they are all remainers trying to thwart the will of the people.

The laughable thing is: many civil service posts are way below private sector pay, so the they continuously lose staff, then have to get in contract staff….and pay twice as much
