Its a more sober breackdown of the statistics of who is coming into our country and who is leaving. An antidote to certain elements of the press who print headline grabbing statements about immigration and this country being "swamped".

Well, aren't we?![]()
Where are all the spare houses, schools, hospital beds, jobs, etc, etc?
Are you in favour of uncontrolled immigration? Don't you care that such a lunatic policy has wrecked things for our kids?

fifty shades of grey is a very good book....![]()
id recommend you guys have a read too......

I am not saying that we should base things on an ever increasing population or economy, neither does the book. Just that our pensions/health schemes have. As we know retirement age is being raised to accomodate the fact that people are living longer, I can see contributions to National Insurance increasing at a greater rate in the years to come.
If we were to stop immigration tomorrow, without stopping emigration then the system we have currently in place will break down.
All I am saying is the views held by a lot of people are not in line with what the statistics show.
The view expressed so far on housing, health, poulation numbers are all covered along with ageing populations, the north/south divide and the increasing gap between the lowest income earners and highest incom earners, in the book by Danny Dorling. I myself believed some of the myths bandied about by newspapers like the Daily Mail, and it made me question some of my assumptions.
Uri, are you seriously telling me, there aren't asylum seekers/immigrants living in flats/houses in Westminster, Chelsea and the posher areas of London claiming thousands of pounds per year in benefits and housing benefits?

Ahh it's the Daily Mail, so we know it's all made up.
But,,, hang on,,, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2867802/Illegal-immigrant-mum-gets-four-bedroom-house.html
Here's the Sun , getting in on the act..
And http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/aug/29/social-housing-council-powers-immigration?INTCMP=SRCH
The Guardian are almost apoplectic with rage that councils should house locals before immigrants.
Wow. all this news that's so obviously not true... What a wicked press we have here in the UK.
