Socket smells when in use

You may add up the 'Watts' printed on your devices.
For example: TV - mine is 180 Watts
240 Watts is 1 Amp current

Your WM, if new, likely 1700 - 2000, 7 or 8A
TD may be 3000, 12.5A

Sorry that only applies for DC or AC at unity power factor. Though I realise the OP not to understand this I'm sure you do and your advise is misleading.

Ok. I can't argue about what the standard states.

It does seem somewhat irresponsible if, say, an eight socket outlet is made yet cannot cope with as much current as the fuse.

So what would the suitable set up be for both to be used at the same time, if there is one.
Hi, change the single socket to a good quality double. The wall appears to be plasterboard all you require is a 25mm double back box and a Stanley knife.

A converta socket will just melt after 6 months :cautious:
