Where did you get that notion from? Never heard the like. 
I've heard tell it's carcinogenic, you should try to avoid breathing the fumes. It's not something I've ever worried about though.

I don my NBC suit before I solder. Just in case
try using less flux, you dont need a lot, and always wipe off the excess before sweating.
I try not to but tend to black out! But seriously its bad sh*t isn't it, much worse than fags??
Guess all the dead plumbers don't post here much?! I know flux isn't good for your skin (at all), so heated up and inhaled might make it much worse?
I'm f*cked then i breathe it in and smoke.
Does anybody know of a lightweight mask to wear whilst soldering, sure that flux smoke will give me cancer?![/u]

Learn to braze - no flux needed.
