Hi,

We fitted a solid bamboo floor (Floating on top of floorboards) just under 2 years ago, and so far it has been fine. I left a 10mm gap all round just to make sure (room is approx 22ft x 22 foot at largest and by 15ft at smallest - L shaped room).

Today it started to lift by the kitchen door :( , and this afternoon it has lifted in the centre of the room ( :? on the longest length as you move out of the main L shape of the room). Theres no evidence of water getting in so wondered what I should do?

Is it just a case of sitting tight until the temperature drops, or should I be looking at taking off skirting boards and cutting down some of the boards very slightly? :?:

Any advice you can provide would be appreciated.

many thanks.

Is there any way you can measure the air-humidity and the moist content of the wood. Not seeing water doesn't mean there isn't any and to the sound of it this is what happened.

I would investigate this further, there is obviously something seriously wrong as bamboo is one of the most stable floor coverings you can get.
I glued down bamboo flooring in my bathroom and kitchen over 4 years ago and neither have moved a millimeter
