Sorry, Politics

The problem is that the Irish Republics claim to reunification is still seen by many as a Constitutional imperative.
It is similar to Putins claim that Ukraine is really Russian.

Sinn Fein is the IRA without their hoods on.
Sinn Fein is a legitimate political party.

Currently they are the ones talking sense unlike the dishonest Donaldson who is full of sh1t

You are quite happy to put in a land border, you are just as bad.
Thats what the delusional DUP thought would happen

You voted Brexit and are now smarting because it failed spectacularly as it’s actually resulted in bringing Ireland together

There already is a land border in Ireland.
Boris has decided not to police it due to threats from the EU and the Irish Republic, anyway, it is the EUs responsibility to police its own side of the border.

Sinn Fein is a legitimate political party
Sinn Fein can never be regarded as a legitimate political party until it repudiates the IRA.
The fact that Sinn Fein refuses to condemn the crimes of its 'military' wing shows its is unfit for public office.

After WW2 the German people, to their credit repudiated the crimes of the National Socialists.
This meant that a new start could be made and former enemies could be friends.
Sinn Fein unlike former Nazi Germany still won't acknowledge that their use of violence to achieve political goals was wrong.

So that all goes for the DUP then, as it has paramilitary connections

has DUP repudiated all links to loyalist paramilitary groups?

Try telling the truth Notch.
It is easier to remember.
As far as i know the DUP has no military wing, although in the past it may have had supporters who broke the law but so have a lot of other parties.
The difference with Sinn Fein is that they refuse to condemn the atrocities of the IRA, quite the opposite in fact.
They have in the past voted to name kiddies playparks after IRA killers who have murdered men women and children simply because they were the wrong religion.
No other political party behaves like this.

Ha ha ha ha

Vinty is quick to point out Sinn Féin’s paramilitary connections but refuses to acknowledge the DUPs paramilitary connections.

What a surprise.

You mean people are claiming parts of Ireland belong to the UK and not Ireland? Really?

Sinn Fein and the IRA are one in the same organisation.
No other political party in the British isles behaves like this.

'As far as [you] know...'

Loyalist Paramilitaries: A History

you're welcome.

Sinn Fein and the IRA are one in the same organisation

Sinn Fein President Mary Lou McDonald said in 2020:
"I don't answer for the IRA, I'm not a spokesperson for the IRA. I'm the leader of Sinn Fein and I'm telling you, the war is over," she said.

The Sinn Fein leader said that she had "no contact or relationship with the IRA".

"Nobody directs Sinn Fein other than Sinn Fein members and the Sinn Fein leadership," she said.

"I'm the leader of Sinn Fein, I know who runs Sinn Fein”.

You claim the IRA and Sinn Fein are the same organisation, do have evidence, like where they meet?

What evidence is there that the IRA still controls Sinn Féin?

Official reports about organisation and army council have produced different results

That is opinion by the Garda commissioner, otherwise known as the Police Force of Northern Ireland and previously known as the Royal Ulster Constabularly

“Seamus Mallon, Social Democratic and Labour Party Member of Parliament (MP) and critic of the force, who later served as Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, stated that the RUC was "97% Protestant and 100% unionist".”

You don’t need to be a genius to work out why they came to that conclusion: partisan bias.
