Spindle spacing on landing.

Can anyone advise what the minimum spacing for spindles on a landing is?
I know they say 100mm but this seems to refer to stair spindles? Is it the same for a horzontal handrail set up with no rake? Burbidge seem to advise 80mm but I think this may be for turned spindles where they are narrower than the square ones that I am using.
Any help gratefully received.

Just the same on a landing, less than 100mm gap at any point.
