    Oh dear.

You'll never be alone and happy with that attitude.

What not just fit LED tape?
You could get some white Perspex cut to size so the whole ceiling lights up
They run cool (as near as)

Ooops. Beg pardon. Didn't notice that.

    There must be similar available.

Edge lit with a dimmable RGBW tape (the ___W is important, RGB alone can't always make a nice white light). Any colour or brightness or colour temperature for your white you want.

Or with the right controller, disco if that's your thing in the bedroom.

Or even a simple brilliant white LED tape. Just needs a simple variable DC supply to dim it without changing colour as the voltage changes, RGB tape and the necessary triple output driver is over complicating the system

I don't think the OP ever said anything about dimming and I can't see any reason to dim lights in a wardrobe.

    Not if one wants RGB...

It's not in a wardrobe, it illuminates what's effectively an alcove in the bedroom, and it is not beyond the realms of possibility that at times something other than makeup-functional light might be welcome.

    I have read it.

Now you take some time to comprehend the idea of people suggesting alternatives which an OP may not have thought of.

Then, when you've done that, perhaps you (and Winston) could read and try to comprehend this:

thanks all for comments and suggestions lol

i feel having considered them all - its just best i stick to spotlights (but change them to LED spotlights) ASSUMING THAT'S EVEN POSSIBLE!
and then stick my shelf on top of that as planned....

that said - the mirror with those bulbs around it.......how does that power? is it from a plug? cos that would be very ideal i have a socket right there.

i always wondered why lights cannot just work off a plug much light a nightlamp? assuming it can only handle low power...?
