Hi all

I need to add a double socket behind a wall mounted TV. This socket would be used for an LED TV (71W power consumption) and maybe a Sky Q mini box in the future.

Only real feasible solution is to spur from the lighting circuit in that room. Socket would never be used for anything other than listed above and would be positioned 6 feet up the wall behind the tv.

Is this possible?
If so, would the spur need to go to a FCU first, then feed the socket from there?

Thank you.

Allowed, but very poor practice. Why can't you spur it from the socket circuit? You know it's the right thing to do.

If I was to do this I would use 1.5mm cable, so it could be connected to the socket circuit at a later date. (fcu would be needed)

Why is so impossible to add to the existing socket circuit?

I seem to find a way without having to bung it on the lighting circuit.
