Spy trial collapses

This is about the torey's trying to imprison their own. Stammer, and I don't accept he improperly influenced the trial, has done them a favour. Its ironic that inside information about the torey leadership contest was probably more secure in the hands of a foreign power than it would have been with a British tabloid with an agenda.
Whilst I agree with the points, it has been spun that Starmer is the person responsible.

Yes the Tories and media would like somebody imprisoned if it means they can make Starmer responsible for it

Obviously in the future when more truth came out then Starmer/Labour would be blamed again. A double whammy.

Spun by the toreys who are miffed that the case was dropped, in the cold light of day, having been brought with strong support from the party.

I think they wanted justice for the ministers affected. There is a group of sanctioned torey MPs who have done good work exposing espionage concerns, without them we would probably have Chineese built nuclear reactors. But political tittle tattle is not classified information or a threat to the state. The CPS dropped the case not the government, it could have left it to the judge and jury..

Agreed. Putting Starmer in the position of fall guy, knowing he won't/can't speak out.

I don't think it's as honourable as that. It's about blaming Starmer and appearing to be the good guys.

Maybe
But political tittle tattle is not classified information or a threat to the state.
But it's good to use against your political opponents

Agreed

That’s the problem, if you dig beneath the surface a lot of politicians and their hangers on could be in trouble.

Every body is spying on every one else

CCTV
Door ring cameras

All this nonsense about these two blokes spying for China

Like the UK is not spying on China

One of the most bugged offices is probably the Bloke who runs the UN office (Secretary General ) :giggle:
