The problem is France: they simply won’t allow migrants to be returned.
and France is in the EU which has more leverage than us, given that it’s our biggest export destination.

I accept it’s unfair, but I simply can’t see any govt including Reform ever forcing France to take them.

Having no other way is wrong, but it's not a pass. We do not have to let anyone who wants to come, do so.
Uk has the right to say who comes here. No other county has the right to say who comes here.
If you're off to find a law which says otherwise then it's silly. We ignore it until it's changed or we stop recognising it.
Can YOU declare yourself destitute and assert some right to go where you want? Obviously not.

We're paying France millions to try and mitigate this, right? If they had been in agreement (which I doubt they would) surely the £££ would have been better spent on us locating dozens upon dozens more people on their shores to render the boats useless before they even enter the water? I can't get my head around why they're not doing this. There has been footage of the boats getting put in the water, migrants getting on them, and off they go. Why the feck are they not being stopped?

It reminds me of the Calais clips when there was footage of migrants jumping onto, into, under lorries destined for the UK ... with NO ONE stopping them.

I'll say it again, it's not a stretch to wonder if this whole thing is by design.

So they can write all our laws? No.
They CLAIM to want to stop the illegal trade or trafficking. ASk them what they're doing about it. It wouldn't be hard to stop completely from their side.
We're paying them more than enough to set up drones and boats with pointy sticks,. or prop-fouling nets. Small hole in boat means it's going down in 15 minutes. 50m from the shore, that's not a problem. Motor no good - OK here's a paddle, there's the shore.

Which I accept is misleading but he didn’t say majority as you claim
