Hi,

I am looking to replace the cove moulding on my staircase as we want to repaint the stairs and its seen better days.

My question is can you buy the cove moulding with the return already cut or do you have to do this yourself? If you have to do this yourself does anyone know of a guide to do this?

Thanks

Al

The return is possibly a mitred return cut although with small mouldings it might just as easily be a scribed end (i.e. hand cut using gouges at the left end), and no, you probably can't buy them ready made as each and every stair case in the world is different. These are made-up on site as a rule
