Starmer. Today’s the day.

You obviously wanted to boast about your awareness being greater than mine, which I didn't understand because it was an "in-joke", i.e. you had to be there.

I hope you're properly supporting the walls of the hole, as you dig - wouldn't want them to collapse on you.

Monty Python's "He's (you're) not the Messiah" is not an "in joke".

It's a cult.

Obviously there's some science behind it. But the followers neglect all other factors and common sense.

What about the common sense of people who know SFA about climatology and atmospheric sciences not calling the thousands and thousands of people who do know liars?

They're both open-border fanatics.

Proof of that, please. Evidence, verified facts, that sort of thing.

who want to fragment society so it's easier to rule over while importing spongers who are much more likely to vote Labour than the native population.

He isn't very good at expressions. Bonus for him though, you actually read his drivel.

If you don't read it you are not qualified to pass judgement on it.

You surely aren't in the habit of making claims when you have not a scooby if they are true or not.

No need, I wasn't digging holes.
I really was not aware of the Monty Python sketches for various reasons:
I didn't watch much TV back in the day, I was invariably out when it was on, back in the day, and of course catch-up was not available, it wasn't to my taste anyway, and it still isn't.
It didn't make any sense to me until Mottie posted the TV clip from the Monty Python show or film or whatever it was from.

It was Starmer who said our peers, you who commented on the eurozone.
Yes, Starmer referred to "our peers" and it was you that compared UK to the other G7 nations.
In Q2 2025, the UK's growth rate matched or exceeded that of most other G7 nations, and on a half-year basis the UK led the G7. However, growth over the past 12 months amounted to a paltry 1.2%, and one being the fastest in the G7 was "like winning a beauty contest amongst your seven ageing friends." The claim was legitimate for parts of 2025 but is a selective framing of modest performance. By early 2026, UK GDP grew by 0.6% in Q1 2026.
