Went into my local Garden specialist and asked for a quality hedgetrimmer and I ended up walking out with a Stihl 30". I'm guessing as they are German it's going to be good quality. Can anyone enlighten me?

good bit of kit 
they are german youre right. They are very good kit, very sturdy and very very easy to maintain. Most of my landscaping stuff is made by them with the exception of a few kawasaki bits. Most of them start no problem, even when left for months.
