Storage Heater not working

Do you have actual figures?
If the cutout is showing open circuit then that is what you need to change.
If he got some sort of reading from the element then it is probably OK.

 At last....a reply from him!

He said :...

1. There is no reading from the element.

2. There is no reading from the cutout.

3. It IS an open circuit but there is power at the base.

Hope that means something to you all!

As there's no reading (in ohms) from either the cutout or the element then you'll need to replace both of them.

 OK

I've ordered both parts...cutout order number XL9701...and element is XT8321. Should be a couple of days before they are in. As Arnie says...I'll be back!

(Should it be easy for me to fit them? Looks like just two terminals on each part :? )

 All parts ordered cutout £11.96....element £22.69 ..carriage from Dimplex to them £5.00 plust VAT £45.60. Free delivery to me...albeit they're local anyway.

THEN I have to fit them

dead easy. plug and play.

(note "dead" easy - make sure it is dead before you start, or you will be - dont rely on the eco7 shutting off)

 Is that by the switch that is in the lobby outside the bathroom...or the main BIG electric power thingie to the house??

If in doubt turn everything off lol (the storage heater fusebox), but normally, the switch outside the bathroom should be enough.

 Righty ho!!

I'll let you know when the stuff arrives.....and when I'm going to attempt my DIY! You MIGHT hear the bang from where you all live

UPDATE!

Both parts have now arrived.....and plucking up courage to go over today and fit them myself.
