Hi.
I had composite decking installed 12 months ago, with 5 x 90mm x 90mm posts positioned, 1 in each corner and another centrally to the rear. The intention was to hang sails from these, but as this has proved unsuccessful, I'm now thinking to add 2/3 horizontal 90mm x 90mm beams of the between each post, so 12 altogether. With the frame then more secure, I'm thinking of then of attaching a half cassette awning to one side, to cover the seating area from the sun.
Does this sound reasonable, or am I setting myself up for a fail, please? I was looking at a full casette but I would be concerned about the weight.
If so, do the horizontal beams need to match the 90mm x 90mm vertical posts, please?
The gaps between the rear posts are 2.43m, with the sides 3.12m, so I'm also struggling to find a local timber merchant with these sizes.
Any help/thoughts are appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
