Just plumbed in a Stuart Turner 2bar twin unit having been sat unused for several months.
All Im getting is a humming from the motor nothing else. Ive read its either, Start capacitor, PCB or most likely a stuck pump.
The suggestion is to rotate the pump shaft. I assume this is the shaft onto which the impellers are mounted and would normally rotate freely once accessed?
Having removed the casing at one end the impeller will not budge. Anyone with knowledge of this scenario could you please advise?
    Many Thanks

Hard water area? Thinking the housings had water in them when it was removed. Going to have to force the impeller to rotate whilst using a vac on the outlets or remove the impeller which isn`t the best idea unless you understand the seal behind it.

I’m sure on the open impeller with the housing off it would be fine.

Problem solved! Decided to take the cover off the opposite side and surprisingly the Impeller was rotating freely, so tried the original side again and it too was now free. Put back together and powered it up and again just the humming, so I figured maybe it was basically overtightened so I backed off the four screws just a fraction and the pump kicked in.
Maybe just coincidence that it was sitting unused for so long or had been overtightened in the past but for now all good. Thanks for all your thoughts and suggestions appreciate them

No such thing as a coincidence in my book. Well done but check for leaks by laying kitchen roll under the covers of the housings for a few days.

you never done a job and they try to get you back as a callback because something stopped working that you didn’t even touch
When I say it’s a coincidence the look they give

I fitted a kitchen tap for a customer, the following day she phones me to tell me that her bathroom radiator is not getting hot and asks me what Iv'e done, I did laugh a lot and explain they are not connected in anyway.
