Hi Guys, I'm a newbie here and was looking for some advice pleeeease.
I have what I believe to be a supporting wall on my 2nd bedroom at the base we have drilled through for 2x 22mm heating pipes and about 2 bricks have just fallen out.
The rest of the wall is in a bad state of repair and there looks like what can only be described as a crease in the wall (been there since we purchased the property).

My questions
1, Can I remove the wall and replace with Breeze block or todays equivalent (obviously supporting the ceiling whilst doing it)
2, Can I replace it using a 4x2 wooden structure and plasterboard
3, Do I need planning permission.

Many thanks in advance

Keith

yes, yes and no (not planning permission, but building regs) If indeed it is a loadbearing wall. The 'crease' might have been there for years and doesn't mean the wall needs replacing, so it might be alright as it is. Best get it checked out by a builder or engineer though, to be sure. If you can post a picture on here then you'll get some better advice.

It's friction and gravity that hold a wall up. If you see a Victorian house being demolished try lifting a few bricks off a half demolished wall - you'll be able to dismantle it by hand. So the odds are that you haven't got a problem - so don't go looking for one.

Thankyou for your prompt replies i will get a pic of it very soon and repost
thankyou
